1. Description
For mold preheating, we recommend using a heating furnace. When the heating furnace is too small and molds are placed too close together, air circulation becomes difficult. A box heating furnace allows each set of molds to be heated separately for optimal results.
The ideal ingot temperature depends on the press tonnage, alloy type, shape of the product, die temperature, and extrusion speed. Lower temperature ingots allow for more heating during the process and enable higher extrusion speeds.
Profile extrusion temperature is carefully monitored by manufacturers. This temperature is controlled by pusher speed and die friction, typically increasing by about 38℃ during extrusion. Die design aims to maximize productivity while maintaining dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and production rates.
