Description

As far as the aluminum alloy itself is concerned, in addition to the chemical composition, the greater influence on the quality of anodic oxidation is the organizational structure. And the organizational structure is determined by the process, so from casting to processing molding the entire production process must consider the quality requirements of the product surface.

Metallurgical changes in the process of casting and homogenization:

Melting Casting: Aluminum in the casting process forms a dendritic structure, the size of the dendrite depends on the solidification rate. Cooling is too fast to form fine columnar crystals, near the ingot surface there is usually a layer of columnar crystals edge area, from the crystallizer wall to the ingot internal growth of coarse dendrites. Coarse dendrites from the ingot leave streaks on the profile during extrusion. This means that structural differences due to different solidification speeds cannot be completely eliminated in subsequent processing. Therefore, the casting process should take into account the structural homogeneity of the ingot cross-section, and for this reason, hot-top casting and electromagnetic casting have been developed.
