High-strength stainless steel metal step bolts with shoulders offer enhanced performance in demanding manufacturing environments. The shoulder provides additional support to prevent wear and tear, extending the lifespan of both the fastener and secured components.

These bolts are designed to withstand high tensile loads, making them suitable for heavy-duty machinery, structural supports, and automotive applications. Their corrosion-resistant properties ensure durability even in challenging conditions.
1.Standard hexagon head bolts are reusable, whereas high-strength bolts are not.
2. High-strength bolts are typically manufactured from high-strength steel grades such as 45 steel (8.8S) and 20MmTiB (10.9S). These serve as prestressed bolts: friction-type bolts require a torque wrench to apply specified prestressing torque, while tension-type bolts have their hex heads removed. Ordinary bolts are generally manufactured from mild steel (Q235) and require only tightening.
3. Ordinary bolts are typically graded 4.4, 4.8, 5.6, and 8.8. High-strength bolts are generally graded 8.8 and 10.9, with 10.9 being the predominant grade.
4. The threaded hole for an ordinary bolt is not necessarily larger than that for a high-strength bolt. In practice, standard bolt holes tend to be smaller.
5. For standard bolts, Grade A and B bolt holes are typically only 0.3–0.5mm larger than the bolt. Grade C bolt holes are generally 1.0–1.5mm larger than the bolt.
6. Friction-type high-strength bolts rely on friction to transmit loads, allowing a difference of 1.5–2.0mm between the bolt shank and hole diameter.
7. The standard load transfer characteristic for pressure-type high-strength hex bolts ensures that under normal usage conditions, shear forces do not exceed friction forces, identical to friction-type high-strength bolts. When loads increase further, relative slippage occurs between connecting plates. The connection then relies on the bolt shank resisting shear and the hole wall bearing pressure to transfer loads, similar to ordinary bolts. Consequently, the difference between the bolt shank and hole diameter is slightly smaller, typically 1.0–1.5mm.
