Process Overview
Crida silicone vacuum casting is an advanced manufacturing process ideal for small batch production and rapid prototyping. The process begins with creating a master mold using CNC machining or 3D printing (SLA/SLS) from 3D drawings. Complex structures typically utilize SLA printing for optimal results.
Silicone is then poured around the master mold, with air removed via vacuum, and cured in a 40°C oven for 8-16 hours depending on mold size. Vacuum casting follows, where resin is injected into the mold under computer control in a vacuum chamber. After injection, parts cure in the oven for 1-3 hours (small parts) or 3-6 hours (large parts). Once cured, parts are removed and the cycle repeats.
