This product is made from hydrogenated castor oil and its main component is 12-hydroxystearic acid glyceride. It is a white to pale yellow powder, lumps, or flakes. It is slightly soluble in dichloromethane, very slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in water.

Used as an oil phase matrix. Common vegetable oils are easily oxidized and rancid, which affects the long-term stability of the final product. Hydrogenated castor oil is not easily oxidized or rancid, and its lipid properties do not change significantly with storage time. Therefore, hydrogenated castor oil can be used in products that require vegetable oils or liquid paraffin. Since hydrogenated castor oil is a waxy solid, it can significantly reduce the amount of oil or oil phase used, and the resulting cream is smoother and more delicate.
