BARENATE® P-300 is an easily dispersible, thixotropic organically modified bentonite designed for thickening diverse oils. It delivers superior gelling control and anti-settling performance with higher efficiency than conventional organoclays, reducing required dosage.

- Forms shear-thinning gels in oils (silicones, esters, mineral oils)
- Prevents pigment/filler sedimentation in lipsticks, foundations, and anhydrous formulations
- Provides high low-shear viscosity for structured textures (balms, stick products)
- Add target oil to mixer → begin agitation
- Incorporate BARENATE® P-300 (0.5-2%) → mix 4-5 min until homogeneous
- Add polar activator (5-20% of P-300 weight) → mix 4-5 min
Activator Options: Propylene carbonate or 95% ethanol
Viscosity Adjustment: Increase/reduce P-300 dosage to achieve target viscosity
Carton. Store in a cool, dry and ventilated place. Shelf life is 36 months if the original package is unopened and intact.
