Steps for Using Edge Bandings:

I. Preparation Work

Also, prepare a utility knife or a trimming knife for cutting and trimming the edge bandings, as well as a clean rag for wiping off excess glue or stains.

2.Cleaning the Edges of the Board
Use a clean rag to wipe the edges of the board to remove impurities such as dust, oil stains and wood chips. Because these impurities will affect the adhesion effect between the edge banding and the board, resulting in the edge banding not sticking firmly. If there are burrs on the edges of the board, you can gently sand them with sandpaper to make the edges smooth. However, be careful not to over-sand to avoid damaging the shape of the edges of the board.

II. Installation Process (Taking Hot Melt Glue as an Example)

1.Heating the Hot Melt Glue
Insert the hot melt glue stick into the hot melt glue gun, turn on the power, and wait for the glue gun to warm up. Generally, the preheating time of the glue gun is about 3 - 5 minutes. You can refer to the instruction manual of the glue gun for the specific time. When the indicator light of the glue gun shows that the heating is completed, it can be used.

2.Applying the Glue
Apply the hot melt glue evenly on the edge of the board. You can start from one end of the edge of the board, slowly move the glue gun to make the glue evenly distributed in a linear shape. Pay attention that the amount of glue should be moderate. Too much glue will overflow when pasting the edge banding, affecting the appearance; too little glue will cause the edge banding not to stick firmly. If woodworking glue is used, use the brush to apply the glue evenly on the edge of the board, and the thickness should be thin and even.

3.Pasting the Edge Banding
Quickly align the edge banding with the edge of the board coated with glue, and start to slowly fit it from one end. During the fitting process, try to make the edge banding and the edge of the board in close contact to avoid gaps. You can use a soft cloth or a rubber roller to gently press the edge banding, and gradually proceed from one end to the other to ensure that the edge banding is completely adhered to the board and air is expelled to make the adhesion more firm.

4.Cutting off the Excess Edge Banding
When the edge banding is attached to the end of the edge of the board, use a utility knife or a trimming knife to cut off the excess edge banding. When cutting, make the cutting tool perpendicular to the edge of the board to ensure that the cut is neat. 2.Inspection and Repair

If bubbles are found, you can gently pierce the bubbles with a needle or a sharp tool, and then press them with a soft cloth to make the edge banding and the board re-adhere. If there is glue overflowing on the surface of the edge banding or other stains, you can wipe them clean with a rag dipped in a small amount of cleaner.
