Extension Rod Overview
The extension rod is a critical component that transfers power from the driving end to the hydraulic end of mud pump systems. Also known as the intermediate rod, this part serves as the key connection point between the power end and hydraulic end, linking the crosshead and piston rod.
One end connects to the crosshead while the other attaches to the piston rod via a clamp. The outer cylindrical surface accommodates a packing box assembly. During reciprocating motion, the rod's outer surface interacts with seals in the packing box, requiring exceptional wear resistance achieved through hard chromium plating.
