Operation Instructions
Step-by-Step Cutting Process
- Select appropriate cutter wheel for pipe material (steel, cast iron, stainless steel)
- Turn handle to open cutter sufficiently to accommodate pipe size
- Position cutter around pipe with spring-loaded guides on top, connect lower yoke and lock in position
- Begin cutting with back-and-forth motion (90-110 degree swing)
- Check wheel tracking uniformity and tighten handle half-turn with each return motion
- Complete cut by maintaining pressure while continuing swing motion
WARNING: Do not stop for significant time during cutting. Cutting generates pipe heat, and upon cooling, wheels may become wedged in track, especially with ductile iron pipe.
