Explosive welding Clad metals are a low-resistance, high-strength joint that allows the welding of two dissimilar metals. They are for use in high-current, high-temperature, and mechanical stress environments. The explosive welding creates dissimilar metals into metallurgically bonded. Dissimilar metals are permanently joined for 100% electrical continuity, and demonstrate the characteristics of contiguous metal at the bond interface.

Advantages
- High bonding strength: the energy of explosive explosion makes the base plate(Carbon steel ) impact the clad plate(Stainless steel, Copper, Titanium, etc.) at high speed, generating high temperature and high pressure to achieve solid-phase welding of the interface of the different metals. Ideally, the shear strength of the interface can reach 400Mpa/mm2.
- Multi-metal bonding: Make the different metals to bonding well, even if these metal are in different melting point, strength, thermal expansion coefficient…, such as: aluminum, copper, titanium, stainless steel and other metals.
- The thickness range of clad plate is large.
