3. Factors affecting the detection sensitivity of X-ray machines
There are five main factors that affect the sensitivity of X-ray machine to detect foreign bodies:
1) The product itself
2) Foreign body type and size
3) Location of foreign body
4) Product packaging
5) Accuracy of the equipment itself.
3.1 Product Itself
The test product, product density and thickness and product texture uniformity will affect the detection sensitivity.
First, about the impact of product density and thickness.
The amount of X-ray absorption is proportional to the density and thickness of the product through which the rays pass. That is, the higher the density of the product, the thicker the thickness, the more X-rays adsorbed, so that for the same incorporated foreign matter, the thicker the product will reduce the contrast with the image gray value of the detected foreign matter (such as metal or glass), thus reducing the sensitivity. The thicker the product, the less likely it is to be detected, and the thinner the product, the more likely it is to be detected.
The sensitivity of product density to detection is similar to the principle of product thickness, the smaller the product density, the greater the density difference with metal foreign bodies, the easier it is to be detected
