- Cards with embossed characters (e.g., bank credit cards with raised numbers)
- Cards with signature strips (the area on the back of bank cards for handwritten signatures)
- Cards with uneven surfaces (e.g., cards with bumpy textures that cause uneven placement)
- Unlaminated printed cards or blank cards (test by scratching colored area—if color peels off, card is unlaminated)
- Cards with IC/ID chips where poor encapsulation creates raised surfaces
Common Printing Issues
Horizontal Lines in Printed Images: If white horizontal lines appear across the entire card, the printhead is likely damaged and requires replacement.
Maintenance Guidelines
Regular maintenance with cleaning supplies (cleaning cards, cleaning pens) is essential to protect the printhead and extend its service life.
Recommended Maintenance Schedule: Perform maintenance with a cleaning card after using one roll of ribbon. The system automatically prompts for cleaning after every 500 cards printed. The prompt disappears after maintenance, allowing normal operation to resume.
