This advanced water purification system effectively removes iron and manganese from groundwater, providing clean drinking water that meets national standards. The system features both automatic and manual control options for optimal performance.
Problem Overview
Groundwater in many regions contains excessive iron (5-15mg/L, up to 20-39mg/L) and manganese (0.5-2.0mg/L, sometimes exceeding 2.0mg/L). When untreated, this water appears clear initially but becomes turbid over time and develops a ferruginous odor. Excessive iron and manganese can damage ion exchange resins, contaminate reverse osmosis membranes, cause scaling in boilers, and promote iron bacteria growth in cooling systems.
Technology and Process
Our iron and manganese removal filter combines oxidation, ion replacement, retention, and clarification processes. The system utilizes aeration (jet aeration or hollow multi-faceted ball aeration) to oxidize bivalent iron and manganese into Fe(OH)₃ and MnO₂, which are then filtered out.
Performance Standards
After treatment, water quality meets national GB5749-85 drinking water standards with iron content ≤0.3mg/L and manganese content ≤0.1mg/L.
