Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate powder is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula FeSO₄·7H₂O. This industrial-grade material is primarily used in the manufacturing of iron salts, inks, magnetic iron oxide, water purifiers, disinfectants, and iron catalysts. It also serves as a coal dye, tanning agent, bleaching agent, wood preservative, and compound fertilizer additive.

Used for flocculation purification of water and removal of phosphate from municipal and industrial effluents to prevent eutrophication of water bodies.

Extensively used as a reducing agent, primarily for chromate reduction in cement production.

Regulates soil pH and promotes chlorophyll formation as an iron fertilizer. Prevents and controls yellowing caused by iron deficiency in plants. Also used as a pesticide to prevent wheat smut, apple and pear scabs, and fruit tree rot diseases.

Used in manufacturing iron tannate inks and other ink formulations. Serves as a mordant for wood dyeing and can dye concrete to a yellow rust color.
