Operating Guidelines
Aging & Performance Management
  • Silicon carbide rods experience gradual resistance increase (aging) during use, which may reduce furnace temperature
  • Compensate for aging by increasing voltage or modifying wiring configuration to maintain optimal furnace temperature
Power Transmission & Operation
  • Begin operation at half the rated voltage and gradually increase to prevent rapid temperature rise
  • Avoid overloading during initial power transmission
  • Continuous operation improves overall lifespan and performance
Handling & Storage
  • Handle with care during loading, unloading, and transportation due to hard and brittle nature
  • Store in dry conditions to prevent aluminum head deterioration from moisture
  • Pre-dry workpieces with excessive moisture before heating to extend rod lifespan
Installation & Maintenance
  • For new or long-unused kilns, use old rods for initial kiln drying rather than new rods
  • Ensure wire clamps maintain close contact with aluminum head at cold end of rod body
  • Replace broken or burnt rods immediately to prevent impact on other rods' service life
Chemical Compatibility
  • Avoid use in hydrogen gas environments as it causes brittleness and reduces lifespan
