Instructions for using silicon carbide rods
(1) After being heated in the air, the silicon carbide rod forms a dense silicon oxide film on its surface, which becomes an antioxidant protective film and prolongs its lifespan. In recent years, various coatings have been developed to prevent cracking of silicon carbide rods for use in furnaces with various gases.
(2) The larger the current applied to the silicon carbide rod, the higher the surface temperature of the silicon carbide rod. Suggest using the lowest possible surface load density (power). Please note that the values recorded on the cold end of the silicon carbide rod are the current and voltage at 1000 ℃ in the air, which may not necessarily match the actual use. In general, the surface power of silicon carbide rods is determined by the relationship between the temperature inside the furnace and the surface temperature of the silicon carbide rods. It is recommended to use a surface power value of 1/2-1/3 of the ultimate density of the silicon carbide rods (W/cm2)
(3) When using silicon carbide rods continuously, it is desirable to slowly increase the resistance to maintain a long lifespan.
