A steel pipe cap, also known as a steel plug, is used to seal the end of a pipe, either by welding or threading onto the external pipe end. Its primary function is to close the pipeline, similar to a pipe plug. Unlike a detachable blind plate, a welded steel cap is permanent. The cap can take various forms, including convex, conical, variable diameter, flat, or constricted designs. Convex caps come in shapes like hemispherical, elliptical, dish, and spherical. While hemispherical caps are challenging to manufacture due to force distribution, they are feasible from a production perspective.
