TC (Tungsten Carbide) Core Bits possess no as hard cutting media as diamond so have a limited range of application; they are a very cost effective choice for drilling softer unconsolidated formations and is applied primarily in geotechnical soil investigation or for core drilling in overburden layers that are composed mainly of clay, sand, gypsum or soft shale. TC Core Bit's crown is composed of a tough, wear resistant matrix body with tungsten carbide wear pads gauge protection.
