Customized Powder Coating Production Line for Metal Substrate Sheet Metal Parts
The spray booth is constructed from PP (polypropylene), offering excellent chemical resistance, durability, and ease of maintenance. The system integrates automatic spray guns with supplementary manual coating, ensuring both high efficiency and precision for complex workpieces.
A monorail overhead conveyor system is utilized to provide stable, continuous, and well-controlled transportation throughout the entire production process.
Production Line Workflow
- Hanger Stop & Elevator Down
Hangers stop at the loading station, and the elevator descends to assist operators in manually hanging the workpieces safely and efficiently. - Pre-Spray Treatment
Workpieces move step-by-step through each pretreatment station, pausing at each stage for spraying and cleaning to ensure thorough surface preparation. - Moisture Drying
Parts are accumulated in a designated drying zone to remove residual moisture, ensuring optimal conditions for subsequent coating. - Manual Spray Room
Workpieces stop temporarily for precise manual spraying, allowing operators to treat complex areas and ensure coating completeness. - Automatic Spray Booth
Workpieces pass through the automatic spray booth at a controlled speed of 1.0–1.5 m/min, where automatic spraying is combined with manual touch-up for uniform and comprehensive coverage. - Powder Curing (Solidification)
Coated workpieces are accumulated in an inclined arrangement for curing, ensuring proper heat distribution and formation of a durable coating film. - Natural Cooling
After curing, workpieces are stopped for natural cooling to stabilize coating properties and maintain finish quality. - Transport to Assembly Area
Cooled parts are transferred to the assembly or packaging area for downstream operations. - Elevator Down & Manual Unloading
The elevator descends again to assist operators in safely removing finished workpieces from the conveyor system.
Powder Coating Process
To ensure high-quality coating performance, the line follows a standardized process:
1. Surface Preparation: Workpieces are cleaned and degreased to remove oil, dust, and contaminants, ensuring proper coating adhesion.
2. Pre-Treatment: Chemical processes such as phosphating or conversion coating are applied to enhance corrosion resistance and improve coating bonding.
3. Drying: Residual moisture is removed in drying ovens to ensure a clean and dry surface before coating.
4. Powder Coating Application: Electrostatically charged powder is applied using spray guns, ensuring even and uniform coverage across all surfaces.
5. Powder Curing: Coated parts are heated in curing ovens, where the powder melts, flows, and chemically cross-links to form a durable and continuous coating film.
6. Cooling: Workpieces are cooled to stabilize the coating and preserve its mechanical and visual properties.
7. Quality Inspection: Final inspection ensures coating thickness, adhesion, appearance, and overall quality meet specified standards.
