3-wire transmitters used in conjunction with vibration monitoring equipment are always powered from a 24V DC supply, making the positive polarity MTL Zener safety barrier MTL7796+ the recommended solution.
All MTL7700 series Zener barriers follow the same design principles. Each channel features:
- Secondary pulse detecting Zener or forward connecting diode
- "Reliable" terminating resistor
- Fuse protection for the diode
- Two-stage voltage limiting function for continuous protection
In case of an electrical fault in the safety zone, the diode limits hazardous area voltage while the resistor provides current limiting. Certified "ia" for all zones and "IIC" for all explosive atmospheres (except MTL7707P+ and MTL7729P+, certified "ia" "IIB").
