Zinc Oxide (ZnO, CAS:1314-13-2) is an inorganic oxide in white powder form. We supply indirect process, direct process, active zinc oxide and nano zinc oxide grades. Theory

Zinc oxide is an ionic oxide featuring a wurtzite crystal structure.

• Rubber vulcanization: ZnO reacts with stearic acid to form zinc soap, which activates sulfur cross-linking and constructs a stable 3D network within rubber.
• UV shielding: Its high refractive index enables reflection and absorption of both UVA and UVB rays.
• Antibacterial effect: Photogenerated reactive oxygen species disrupt the cell membranes of microorganisms.
• Pigment performance: High refractive index delivers strong hiding power.

Production Process

Indirect process: Zinc ingot → melting → zinc vapor oxidation → cooling and collection → grinding & classification → impurity removal → quality inspection → packaging.

Direct process: Zinc ore/slag → high-temperature roasting & oxidation → air separation purification → milling → quality testing → packaging.

Active ZnO: Zinc salt solution reaction → precipitation → washing → calcination activation → milling & sieving.

Precautions

• Keep the product hermetically sealed and stored in dry, moisture-proof conditions to avoid agglomeration.
• Wear dust masks and safety goggles during handling to prevent inhalation of powder dust.
• Avoid eye and skin contact. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water immediately.
• Keep separated from strong oxidizing agents.
• Not intended for oral ingestion.
