N2XH is a European standard (EN) halogen-free flame-retardant power cable, where "N" denotes non-spreading flame and "XH" indicates cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation. The J/O suffixes differentiate between rigid (Class 1) and flexible (Class 5) conductor versions.
- Fire safety: FRNC (Flame Retardant Non-Corrosive) sheath reduces smoke/toxic gas emission during fire incidents
Public buildings (hospitals, hotels), industrial plants (chemical/oil facilities), transport systems (metro, railways)
- Rated voltage: 0.6/1kV
- Operating temp: -40°C to +90°C (fixed installation)
- Short-circuit withstand: +250°C (5 sec max)
- Minimum bending radius: 12× cable diameter
- Avoid parallel routing with high-voltage cables (keep ≥300mm spacing)
- Use proper glanding tools for shield termination
- N2XH-J: Class 1 solid conductor (rigid)
- N2XH-O: Class 5 stranded conductor (flexible)
50% lower smoke density in fires (IEC 61034 test), no corrosive halogen gases (IEC 60754-1 compliant)
- Annual insulation resistance test (>20MΩ*km)
- Visual inspection for sheath damage in corrosive environments
