ER309 and ER309L are two commonly used stainless steel welding wires.

Mechanical properties
ER309: ​​The tensile strength of the welded joint is generally ≥520MPa, with good strength, which can meet the load-bearing requirements of most stainless steel structures. At the same time, the weld metal has good crack resistance and oxidation resistance.

ER309L: The mechanical properties are similar to ER309, but due to the lower carbon content, the intergranular corrosion resistance of its weld metal is better, which is more advantageous in some occasions where intergranular corrosion resistance is required. The tensile strength of the welded joint can usually reach more than 520MPa.
