Customized CaF2 ZnSe Crystal Glass Optical Window  for Infrared Application


1. Material Composition

  • Calcium Fluoride (CaF2) Crystal Glass: A natural or synthetically grown material known for its broad spectral transmission, especially in the ultraviolet (UV) to infrared (IR) range.

  • Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) Crystal Glass: A chemically vapor-deposited (CVD) polycrystalline material prized for its exceptional performance in mid- to long-wave infrared (MWIR to LWIR) applications.

  • Customized Fabrication: Windows can be tailored in dimensions, thickness, and edge profiles (e.g., round, rectangular, with mounting features) to fit specific system designs.


2. Key Optical & Physical Properties

  • Broad Infrared Transmission:

    • CaF2: High transmission from ~0.15 µm (UV) to ~9 µm (IR).

    • ZnSe: Excellent transmission from ~0.6 µm (visible) to ~18 µm (far-IR), with peak performance in the 8–12 µm atmospheric window.

  • Low Absorption & Scatter: Minimal signal loss for high-precision IR imaging and sensing.

  • Thermal & Mechanical Stability: Suitable for varying operational temperatures and moderate environmental stress.

  • Custom Coatings Available: Anti-reflection (AR) coatings can be applied to specific IR bands to maximize transmission and reduce Fresnel reflection.
