Single Lane Steel Frame Bridge

The Bailey Bridge is a portable steel frame bridge with a simple structure, widely used in various applications. Its key features include versatile span configurations, high load-bearing capacity, lightweight components, and easy assembly/disassembly with basic tools and manpower.

Each 10-foot-long (3.0 m) bridge section with 12-foot-wide (3.7 m) roadbed is constructed sequentially. Completed sections are pushed forward over bridgehead rollers while new sections are added behind. Panels are connected with pins inserted into corner holes.

For enhanced strength, up to three panels can be bolted on each side or stacked vertically. This configuration supports tanks over 200-foot spans (61 m). Footways can be installed outside side panels for safe pedestrian access.

Primarily used for temporary single-span bridges allowing vehicles with crawler loads up to 500KN and tire loads below 300KN (130KN axle pressure) to cross obstacles. Also suitable for bridge repairs and constructing steel structures like support frames and gantries.
