Steel Truss Bridge Overview
The steel truss bridge is a structural system between beams and arches, combining a bent upper beam structure with pressure-bearing lower columns in an integrated design. This rigid connection creates a compression-bending and thrust structure that efficiently distributes loads.
Structural Configuration
Based on bridge floor position, we offer two configurations:
- Upper Bearing: Bridge floor located above the main truss
- Lower Bearing: Bridge floor located below the main truss
Key Structural Components
Main Girder
The primary load-bearing structure composed of upper chord, lower chord, and belly rods (diagonal and vertical bars). Nodes are categorized as large or small with defined pitch distances.
Bracing System
Includes longitudinal and horizontal connections that stabilize the structure against lateral loads. The system features:
- Upper and lower horizontal longitudinal connections for transverse load resistance
- Bridge frame and crosslink transverse connections to enhance torsional stiffness
Bridge Deck System
Comprising longitudinal beams, transverse beams, and their connections, this system transfers loads from the deck to the main truss through a defined path.
Bridge Floor
The walking surface for vehicles and pedestrians, designed similarly to steel beam and combined beam bridges.
