Steel Box-Girder Bridge Structure
The steel box-girder bridge is composed of top plate (bridge panel), beam web, bottom plate, longitudinal stiffener, transverse stiffener, and diaphragm plate (cross beam). Factory welding is preferred to ensure weld quality, with strict quality control measures.
Orthotropic Steel Bridge Panels
The top plate features vertical and horizontal stiffeners forming an orthogonal bridge panel. This design offers excellent mechanical properties in both bridge directions, efficiently bears local wheel loads, and optimizes steel usage.

Ideal for bridges with width ≤3 lanes or width-to-span ratio

Double Box Steel Girder Bridge
Used when bridge width is large or single box dimensions become impractical for production, transportation, or installation.
Multi-box Steel Girder Bridge
Optimal for wide bridges with small spans, featuring uniformly spaced main beams for balanced load distribution.
Structural Components
Longitudinal Beam
Reduces span of reinforced concrete bridge panels and enhances steel bridge panel stiffness. Spacing ≤3m for concrete panels.
Transverse Beam
Spacing ≤6m when longitudinal beams are present (max 20m without). Ensures lateral load distribution and supports longitudinal beams/bridge panels.
Support Systems
Single-box bridges require two end supports for stability. Multi-box bridges typically use one support per box, with temporary fulcrums for structural reinforcement during installation.
