Product Description
The steel box-girder bridge is composed of top plate (bridge panel), beam web, bottom plate, longitudinal stiffener, transverse stiffener, and diaphragm plate (cross beam). The thickness of the top plate, beam web and bottom plate is generally 12~30mm, with secondary plate thickness of 10~20mm.
Orthotropic Steel Bridge Panels
The basic forms of longitudinal rib section are open and closed. The cross-section form of the ribs is typically inverted T shape, with spacing determined by the span of the longitudinal ribs. Transverse ribs feature notches to allow continuous passage of longitudinal ribs.
Structural Forms
Single Box Steel Beam Bridge: Ideal for bridges with width ≤3 lanes or width-to-span ratio
Double Box Steel Girder Bridge: Used when bridge width is large or single box size becomes impractical for production, transportation, or installation.
Multi-box Steel Girder Bridge: Optimal for small spans with large bridge widths, featuring uniformly-spaced main beams for balanced force distribution.
Structural Components
Longitudinal Beam
Reduces span of reinforced concrete bridge panels (≤3m spacing) and enhances steel bridge panel stiffness. For steel panels with small beam spacing, longitudinal beams may be omitted.
Transverse Beam
Ensures even stress distribution across multiple boxes, supports longitudinal beams/bridge panels, and improves overall torsional resistance. Spacing ≤6m with longitudinal beams, ≤20m without.
Support Systems
Single-box bridges require two end supports for stability. Multi-box bridges use one support per box. Temporary fulcrums with jacks provide additional structural reinforcement during installation.
