The ISO 9150 Molten Metal Splashes Impact Tester is a specialized device designed to evaluate the performance of protective clothing materials against small splashes of molten metal, as outlined in the ISO 9150:1988 standard. This advanced testing equipment ensures that materials used in PPE, such as hoods, aprons, and footwear, can withstand the thermal hazards encountered in welding, foundry work, and other high-risk industrial environments. By simulating molten metal splash impacts, the tester measures heat transfer and material resistance, ensuring compliance with safety standards like EN ISO 11611 and EN ISO 20349. Ideal for manufacturers and quality control labs, this machine guarantees reliable, accurate results for enhancing worker safety.
ISO 9150:1988: Protective clothing -- Determination of behaviour of materials on impact of small splashes of molten metal
The ISO 9150 standard is designed to evaluate the performance of materials used in protective clothing against small splashes of molten metal. The testing product range includes:
- Protective Clothing Materials: Pliable materials or assemblies designed to protect workers from small splashes of molten metal, particularly molten steel, as used in welding and allied processes (EN ISO 11611) or foundries (EN ISO 20349).
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Includes items such as hoods, aprons, sleeves, gaiters, and footwear intended to resist heat transfer from molten metal splashes.
- Eye Protectors: Materials tested for protective performance against molten metal splashes, as per standards like GB 14866.
- Other Pliable Materials: Any flexible material or material assembly designed to provide thermal protection in environments exposed to molten metal hazards.
- The instrument is composed of burner, sample frame, welding rod drive device, burner flow controller, computer display device, etc.
- The equipment tooling is made of stainless steel, which is beautiful and corrosion-resistant.
- Equipped with an oxyacetylene torch to melt metal strips, the diameter of the welding tip is (1.2+0.1) mm.
- The motor automatically controls the feeding of the metal strip, and can set the falling speed of the metal strip.
- Melting and dripping guide mechanism, made of stainless steel, with high-temperature anti-sticking guide groove, the angle is 45 degrees.
- The fabric temperature sensor module is used to monitor the temperature rise of the back of the sample.
- The counterweight copper hammer device is used to set the pre-tension of the fabric at 175g+0.5g.
- The temperature rise data can be recorded automatically, and the number of molten drops can be recorded by the tester himself.
- Computer + Labview intelligent control system.
- Automatically generate temperature curve and experiment report.
