This PLC-controlled industrial quenching furnace is specifically designed for heat treatment of automotive components, providing precise temperature control and uniform heating for optimal material properties.
How a Quenching Furnace Works
Step 1: Heating (Austenitization)
The metal (typically steel) is heated to critical temperatures ranging from 750-950°C in a controlled atmosphere, transforming the microstructure into austenite for subsequent quenching.
Step 2: Soaking (Holding at Temperature)
The material is maintained at target temperature to ensure uniform heat distribution throughout the component, with soaking duration dependent on material thickness and composition.
Step 3: Quenching (Rapid Cooling)
Heated parts are rapidly submerged in quenching media (oil, water, polymer, or gas) to achieve desired hardness and microstructure properties, including martensite formation for maximum hardness.
