Installation and Construction Considerations
Proper installation is critical to ensuring the performance of an HDPE geomembrane liner.
· Subgrade Preparation: The foundation must be carefully prepared—it should be smooth, compacted, and free of sharp objects like stones, roots, or debris that could puncture the membrane .
· Welding and Seaming: Panels of HDPE geomembrane are typically joined together using thermal fusion welding (either dual-track or extrusion welding) to create continuous, strong, and watertight seams. This process requires specialized equipment and trained, certified technicians .
