Product Overview FG150-150 KN/M Bitumen Coated Grid Mesh

Yixing Shenzhou FG150-150 KN/M Bitumen Coated Asphalt Reinforcement Grid is a high-performance geosynthetic material specially designed for asphalt pavement reinforcement, crack prevention and pavement life extension. Made of high-strength biaxial glass fiber grid as the base material and coated with modified asphalt coating, this product features excellent tensile strength, high temperature resistance, and perfect compatibility with asphalt mixtures.
It is widely used to eliminate reflective cracks, thermal cracks and traffic load-induced cracks in asphalt pavements, providing stable and long-lasting structural support for various road engineering projects, and effectively reducing the full-life-cycle maintenance costs of pavement projects.

 

 

Bitumen Coated Grid Mesh Product Features:


- Biaxial High Tensile Strength: With ≥150KN/m tensile strength in both warp and weft directions,

it efficiently disperses pavement stress, resists heavy-load deformation, and fundamentally blocks crack propagation.

 

- Premium Bitumen Coating: Full-coverage modified bitumen coating ensures tight interlayer bonding

with hot asphalt mixture, no slipping, no peeling, no aging, and enhanced overall pavement integrity.

 

- Low Elongation Performance: Break elongation ≤3%, maintaining high structural rigidity, preventing

pavement rutting and deformation, and keeping asphalt pavement flat for a long time.

 

- Extreme Weather Resistance: Stable performance within -40℃ to 200℃, adapting to high-temperature

asphalt paving construction and harsh outdoor service environments, UV-resistant and acid-alkali resistant.

 

- Long Service Life: Adopting high-quality non-creep glass fiber substrate, the product has a service life

of more than 20 years, matching the design life of asphalt pavements.

 

 

 

 

Reinforcement Fiberglass Geogrid​ ​ Key Properties:

Typically ranges from 20x20 mm to 40x40 mm, optimized for optimal interlock with common aggregate sizes.

 

  • Coating:

Coated with a polymeric material (e.g., PVC) to protect the glass fibers from abrasion and

Reinforcement Fiberglass Geogrid​ Key Considerations and Potential Downsides :


Not a Fix for Structural Failure:

If your old driveway is failing due to a poor base

(e.g., sinking, severe rutting), a geogrid will not help. The underlying base must be sound and stable.

 

Proper Thickness is Critical:

Paving too thin of an asphalt layer (e.g., 1.5-2 inches) over the grid will not

provide enough material to interlock properly and can lead to raveling (the asphalt breaking apart around the grid).

 

Cost:

It adds to the initial cost of the driveway project due to the material cost and specialized installation knowledge.

 

Contractor Experience:

Not all asphalt contractors are familiar with the proper installation technique for paving geogrids. It is vital to hire a contractor who has proven experience with this specific product.
