The multi-tooth indexing table is a precision instrument for angle measurement, serving as both an angle reference for measurement and an indexing device for precision machining. When used with a photoelectric autocollimator, it enables detection of high-precision angle devices including multi-faceted prisms, angle block gauges, and optical prisms.

As an indexing device, it facilitates the machining of precision parts with demanding angle requirements—such as hole positions, vertical planes, and parallel planes—on standard milling, boring, grinding, and other machine tools. The subdivision and combined differential capabilities of the multi-tooth indexing table also support high-precision arbitrary angle measurements.
