Westglass PDLC smart dimming glass, also known as electrically controlled dimming glass or smart glass, is a high-tech specialty glass created by sandwiching a PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) film between two layers of glass and bonding them under high temperature and pressure. Controlled by electric current, it enables instant switching between transparent and frosted states, integrating privacy protection, energy efficiency, and safety features.
- Unpowered State: Liquid crystal molecules arrange randomly, scattering light to form a frosted effect (light transmittance ≤ 2%)
