Flexographic printing (often shortened to flexo) is a modern high-speed rotary printing method that uses flexible, relief printing plates made of rubber or photopolymer. The raised areas on the plate form the image. The process involves an anilox roll, a cylinder with microscopic cells that meters a precise amount of ink onto the printing plate.
Flexo is known for its versatility in printing on a wide variety of substrates, including non-porous materials like plastic, cellophane, and metallic films, which are unsuitable for offset printing.
