Coating Specifications
- PE coating: The most common inner and outer coating. Food grade polyethylene plastic is uniformly coated on the surface of the base paper after being melted at high temperature by a laminating machine. Its main function is to prevent leakage and penetration, whether it is for liquids such as water, oil, or coffee. For hot beverage cups, PE coating can also provide some insulation effect.
- PLA coating: A bio based biodegradable material derived from plants such as corn and cassava. Used for manufacturing "environmentally friendly" or "compostable" paper cups. Its function is similar to PE, but it needs to be degraded under specific industrial composting conditions.
