Trehalose (α - D-glucopyranosyl - α - D-glucopyranoside) is a stable non reducing disaccharide composed of two pyranose ring glucose molecules linked to a 1,1-glycoside bond. Due to the fact that trehalose is a non reducing sugar composed of special disaccharide molecules, its properties are very stable. It can form a special protective film on the surface of cells under harsh conditions such as high temperature, high cold, dryness, and dehydration, effectively protecting the structure of biomolecules from damage and maintaining the life processes and biological characteristics of living organisms. In recent years, the value of trehalose has doubled. As a moisturizer, stabilizer and protector of bioactive substances, it can be widely used in various industries such as biologics, pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics and agricultural science.
