Measurement Principle
Water contains dissolved salts that exist as ions. When electrodes are inserted and current is applied, charged ions move directionally under the electric field, enabling electrical conduction. Conductivity represents the reciprocal of resistivity and serves as a critical indicator for assessing water quality by measuring total dissolved salt content.
Conductivity exhibits temperature dependence and is typically measured as specific conductance at 25°C. Lower conductivity indicates purer water with fewer dissolved electrolytes and impurities.
Installation Methods
- Sidewall Installation: Ensure interface tilt angle exceeds 15 degrees
- Top Flange Installation: Note flange dimensions and electrode insertion depth
- Pipe Installation: Consider pipe diameter, flow velocity, and pressure requirements
- Flow-Through Installation: Monitor flow velocity and pressure conditions
- Submersion Installation: Adjust bracket length as needed for application
Before use, unscrew the electrode protective cap and install with appropriate mounting bracket or accessories.
