When the solenoid coil is de-energized, the main control spool is held in the center position by the centering spring. The main control spool is controlled by the pilot control valve and moves proportionally. For example, when the solenoid "B" is driven, the control spool moves to the right, and the pilot oil enters the pressure chamber through the pilot control valve, causing the main control spool to deflect proportionally to the electrical input signal.
