Introduction

The samples and the test control fabric were simultaneously exposed to the nitrogen oxide smoke produced by the gas combustion until the color change of the control fabric was consistent with the standard fading. The color fastness grade was evaluated by comparing the color change of the sample with the standard gray card. If no color change was observed in the sample after one test cycle, the test cycle could be continued for the specified number of times or until the specified color change could be produced by the sample.

The instrument includes a testing room, a combustion chamber, a control box, an observation door, a control panel, a timer, a temperature control meter, an air valve switch, a fan and an exhaust device. The instrument automatically controls and displays the temperature.
