17-4PH is a martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel with high strength, high hardness and good corrosion resistance. Its main components include elements such as chromium (Cr: 15.0 - 17.5%), nickel (Ni: 3.0 - 5.0%), copper (Cu: 3.0 - 5.0%) and carbon (C: less than 0.07%), and the combination of these elements makes 17-4PH perform well in a variety of applications.

17-4PH has a unique chemical composition, mainly including elements such as chromium (15.0 - 17.5%), nickel (3.0 - 5.0%), copper (3.0 - 5.0%) and carbon (≤ 0.07%). The combination of these elements makes 17-4PH not only have excellent corrosion resistance, but also can obtain ultra-high strength and hardness through precipitation hardening treatment. Its hardness value is 30~45 HRC, tensile strength ≥1100MPa, yield strength ≥1000MPa, and elongation ≥10%.

17-4PH is widely used in many fields, including:

The heat treatment process of 17-4PH has a great influence on its performance:

• Solution annealing temperature: 1010 - 1130℃
• Quenching temperature: 1040 - 1090℃
• Tempering temperature: 480 - 620℃

By precisely controlling these heat treatment processes, the tensile strength of 17-4PH can reach about 1000 - 1100 MPa, the yield strength can reach about 965 - 1000 MPa, and the hardness can exceed HRC40.

The raw material is sent to the hot rolling unit for rolling into different sizes.

• The hot rolled material is annealed in the cold rolling annealing furnace and pickled in acid.
• After the first shift operation, all the rolls are ground on precision grinders and properly chamfered.
• All the plates are soaked in different tanks and dried on brush roll machines before dispatching.
• These plates are annealed again and sent to the straightening machine for straightening.
• Inspection is carried out at different stages. Proper control of the entire in-house process is maintained by our experienced staff through rolling, annealing and pickling.
