904L (N08904, 14539) super austenitic stainless steel contains 14.0-18.0% chromium, 24.0-26.0% nickel, and 4.5% molybdenum. This low-carbon, high nickel, molybdenum austenitic stainless steel features excellent activation passivation transformation ability and superior corrosion resistance.

Corrosion Resistance Features

- Phosphoric acid: Excellent resistance in 0-85% concentrations
- Nitric acid: Lower corrosion resistance than high-alloyed molybdenum-free steels
- Hydrochloric acid: Limited to 1-2% concentrations with better performance than conventional stainless steels
- High resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride, hydroxide, and hydrogen sulfide environments
