Inconel600 alloy is a nickel-chromium-iron based solid solution strengthened alloy with excellent high temperature corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. It features outstanding cold and hot processing characteristics, superior welding performance, and maintains satisfactory thermal strength with high plasticity below 700℃.
The alloy can be strengthened through cold working and is suitable for resistance welding, fusion welding, or brazing. It's ideal for manufacturing oxidation-resistant components that bear low loads below 1100℃.
- High temperature resistance: Melting point of 1354℃-1413℃ with long-term usability at 1093℃. Forms protective oxide film at high temperatures.
- Corrosion resistance: Excellent resistance to oxidizing acids (nitric acid, sulfuric acid), chlorides, and alkaline solutions.
- Mechanical properties: 550MPa tensile strength and 40% elongation at room temperature; maintains 140MPa yield strength at 700℃.

- Chemical and Petrochemical: Heat exchangers, reactors, and piping systems resistant to corrosive media.
- Aerospace: Aircraft engine combustion chambers, nozzles, and other high-temperature components.
- Nuclear Energy: Cooling systems in nuclear reactors, resistant to high temperature and pressure environments.
- Food and Pharmaceutical: Equipment containers requiring excellent hygienic properties.
Inconel600 can be formed through hot working (forging, heat treatment) and cold working (for strength improvement). Argon arc welding (TIG) is commonly used to ensure quality welds. Temperature control during processing is critical to prevent abnormal grain growth or stress cracks.
Summary: Inconel600's composition and comprehensive performance make it a key material for extreme environments, particularly suited for high temperature and corrosive applications.
