The KAFS Air Flow Switch is a field-adjustable paddle vane switch designed to detect air and non-aggressive gas velocities in HVAC systems. Suitable for ducts 8 inches or larger, the stainless steel vane can be trimmed for smaller duct applications.

Mount the flow switch in a duct or chamber where the air paddle can freely point horizontally downwards. Provide straight zones of 5 times the duct diameter upstream and downstream from the installation location to prevent air swirl and paddle instability.
Units are factory calibrated to minimum switch-off values. Adjust the range screw clockwise to increase set values. For air speeds exceeding 5.0 m/sec, cut the paddle on the marked side to prevent fracture. When paddle is cut, minimum cut-out value increases from 1.0 m/sec to 2.5 m/sec.
