PGH pumps are compatible with standard hydraulic fluids such as HLP, HEES (synthetic esters), and HFDU (phosphate esters). The optimal operating viscosity range is 10 to 300 mm²/s. Fluid temperature should generally be maintained between -10°C to +80°C for HLP fluids and -10°C to +50°C for special fluids.
- Fluid Contamination: Dirt, debris, or air bubbles can cause internal wear, clogging, and failure.
- Overheating: Excessive heat can break down lubricants, damage seals, and cause bearing failure.
- Mechanical Wear and Tear: Misalignment, excessive pressure, or running outside specified parameters.
- Cavitation: Occurs when the pump is starved of fluid, leading to noise and damage.
- Check reservoir fluid level
- Inspect suction line and inlet filter for blockages
- Ensure fluid viscosity is within recommended range
- Check for air leaks in suction line
- Verify pump rotation direction
- Inspect internal components for wear
- Check for internal leakage in worn components
- Verify relief valve setting and functionality
- Check for fluid contamination and change if needed
