Technical Specifications
Parameter Value
Full Part Number R901508500 (IN001 = individual inspection suffix)
Base Model 2FRM 6 - B76 - 2X / 10QRV
Valve Type 2-way throttle check valve with pressure compensator (flow control - constant flow despite pressure fluctuations)
Nominal Size (NG) 6 - sandwich mounting per ISO 6263 / NG6 (DIN 24340 Form C)
Function Adjustable orifice + pressure-compensated spool → constant flow A→B; free reverse flow B→A via check valve
Adjustment Type B76 = Rotary knurled knob with scale & tamper-lockable/sealable cap (hand-adjustable; same performance as B36)
Component Series 2X (series 20+, dimensionally interchangeable)

Max. Operating Pressure 315 bar (ports A & B)
Cracking Pressure (Reverse Check) approx. 0.5 bar (standard free-return)
Mounting Pattern NG6 sandwich (4× M5 bolts), between directional valve & subplate
Seal Material NBR (standard, code V - for mineral oil HL/HLP, HFC)
Hydraulic Fluid Mineral oil HL, HLP per DIN 51524; HFC (water-glycol); HLPD, HVLP, HVLPD
Fluid Temperature Range -30 °C to +80 °C (NBR seals)
Viscosity Range 10-800 mm²/s
Weight (approx.) 1.24 kg
Body Material Steel / cast iron, zinc-plated
Rexroth 2FRM6 hydraulic flow control valve with pressure compensator
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Is this a simple throttle / needle valve?

No. A needle valve lets flow vary with ΔP. The 2FRM is pressure-compensated - the built-in compensator spool keeps the set flow essentially constant despite load or supply pressure changes (provided ≥~15 bar ΔP across compensator).

Q2: What does "B76 /10QRV" mean?
  • B76 = NG6 sandwich, rotary knurled knob with scale + tamper-lockable / sealable cap
  • /10 = maximum adjustable flow = 10 L/min (also available: /1.5, /3, /6, /16, /25, /32)
  • Q = flow controlled in A→B direction
  • R = free reverse flow B→A via check valve
  • V = NBR seals (standard)
Q3: How do I set the flow?

Loosen the lock ring / seal wire, turn the knurled knob clockwise to increase flow, counterclockwise to decrease. The knob has a relative scale - use a flow meter to correlate to actual L/min. After setting, tighten the lock ring / apply seal wire.

Q4: How is it mounted?

As a sandwich (stackable) valve between a directional control valve and the NG6 subplate (4× M5 bolts). Observe the arrow on the valve body - A→B = controlled/metered flow, B→A = free return.

Q5: Does it work both ways?

No - one direction is pressure-compensated metered flow (A→B), the opposite direction (B→A) is free return through the check valve (no flow control, minimal pressure drop ~0.5 bar). For bidirectional flow control use two 2FRM valves.

Q6: Minimum pressure requirement?

The pressure compensator typically needs min. ~15 bar differential pressure across the compensator to regulate properly. Supply pressure must exceed the highest load pressure + ~15-20 bar + line losses.

Q7: Common faults & causes?
  • Flow varies with load pressure: compensator spool stuck (contamination) - check oil filtration (ISO 4406 18/16/13 or better); or insufficient ΔP across compensator
  • No flow / very low at max knob: valve installed backwards, or compensator/spool jammed
  • Cannot reach set flow / unstable: partially clogged orifice, cold-start high viscosity - flush system
  • Excessive heat: normal for flow controls - P_drop × Q = heat; ensure supply pressure isn't unnecessarily high above load requirement
Q8: What is the difference between B36 and B76?

Both have identical flow characteristics and knob. B76 has a tamper-evident / sealable lock cap for applications where the setting must not be altered after commissioning. B36 has a standard lock setscrew only.

Q9: Fluid & seal compatibility?

NBR seals = mineral oil (HL/HLP) & HFC (water-glycol). For HEES/HETG biodegradable oils or HFD phosphate ester → specify FKM (Viton) seal variant.
