Descriptions And Advantages Of Motorized Flange Cast Iron Resilient Seat Gate Valve:

The SONGO cast iron gate valves are shut-off valves with a gate plate as the opening and closing part. The movement direction of the gate plate is perpendicular to the fluid, featuring low flow resistance and allowing bidirectional flow of the medium. It has a relatively large structural height and a long opening and closing time, and is divided into two types: wedge type (including single gate plate, double gate plate and elastic gate plate) and parallel gate plate type (including single gate plate and double gate plate). According to the structure of the valve stem, they can be classified into exposed stem gate valves (where the valve stem thread is exposed for easy lubrication) and concealed stem gate valves (where the thread is built-in and the valve stem only rotates). The valve body materials include gray cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, etc. It adopts flange connection, and the nominal diameter covers DN40-DN1200. It is suitable for pipelines in water, steam, oil, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, power and other industries.
The sealing surface of this valve adopts a wedge-shaped design and relies on self-sealing or forced closure by external force, but maintenance is rather inconvenient. The double gate plate model needs to be installed vertically, while the concealed rod model is suitable for limited Spaces. The improved design has added automatic adjustment of the drive motor, threaded rod transmission structure and magnetic block sealing device, and optimized the arc structure of the gate plate to reduce fluid resistance. Some models have a working pressure of ≤1.0MPa and comply with standards such as ANSI and JIS-10K.

Advantages Of Cast Iron Gate Valve:
1. Low flow resistance. The medium passage inside the valve body is straight-through, and the medium flows in a straight line with low flow resistance.
2. It requires less force when opening and closing. Compared with the stop valve, it is because whether open or closed, the movement direction of the gate is always perpendicular to the flow direction of the medium.
3. Large height and long opening and closing time. The opening and closing stroke of the gate plate is relatively large, and the lowering is carried out through a screw.
4. Water hammer phenomenon is less likely to occur. The reason is that the closure time is long.
5. The medium can flow in any direction on both sides and is easy to install. The channels on both sides of the gate valve are symmetrical.
6. The structural length (the distance between the two connecting end faces of the shell) is relatively small.
7. The sealing surface is prone to wear, which affects the service life. When opening and closing, the two sealing surfaces of the gate and the valve seat rub and slide against each other. Under the action of medium pressure, they are prone to scratches and wear, which affects the sealing performance and shortens the service life.
8. The price is relatively high. There are many contact sealing surfaces, and the processing is rather complex. Especially the sealing surfaces on the gate plate seat are not easy to process, and there are many parts.
9. It has a simple shape, short structural length, good manufacturability and wide application range.
10. Compact structure, good valve rigidity, smooth channel, low flow resistance, the sealing surface is made of stainless steel and hard alloy, long service life, PTFE packing is used, reliable sealing, and easy and flexible operation.
