The pre-owned Agilent N5183A MXG sweeps from 100 kHz to 20 GHz while delivering a -120 dBc/Hz phase-noise floor and up to +23 dBm output, so it substitutes for crystal-clean local oscillators and drives power-amplifier compression from the same port. An electronic step attenuator furnishes a calibrated 167 dB span (+23 dBm to -144 dBm), eliminating external pads for receiver-sensitivity or EMC work. Built-in AM/FM/PM and pulse modulation plus list-mode frequency hopping accelerate device characterisation, and full SCPI control over LAN or GPIB drops straight into automated benches.
