Aluminum-Zinc coated steel coil is an advanced corrosion-resistant steel product manufactured by hot-dip coating a cold-rolled or hot-rolled steel substrate with an alloy composed of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon. Known commercially as Galvalume, it combines aluminum's oxidation resistance with zinc's sacrificial protection, making it superior to traditional galvanized steel in harsh environments.

Key Properties
Corrosion Resistance
Aluminum forms a dense oxide layer (Al₂O₃), resisting acids, alkalis, and moisture. Service life is 2-6 times longer than regular galvanized steel. Zinc provides sacrificial protection, preventing rust even if the coating is scratched.
Heat Resistance
Withstands 300-500°C (aluminum's high melting point: 660°C), whereas galvanized steel degrades above 200°C.
Reflectivity & Aesthetics
Silver-gray surface reflects ≥80% of solar radiation, ideal for roofing. Can be painted (pre-painted coils) for decorative purposes.
Formability
Good adhesion for stamping and bending, but higher hardness may increase tool wear.
