How Does an Exciter Work?
The electromagnetic vibration exciter operates similarly to a loudspeaker, generating movement through current passing through a coil in a magnetic field. The acceleration force is proportional to drive current and magnetic flux, allowing precise vibration level control through current regulation.
The Power Amplifier
The exciter's frequency response shows three distinct regions: the spring-mass system of the moving element (typically 20Hz resonance), the operational range, and upper frequency limits set by axial resonances (typically above 5kHz for large exciters). Voltage control through low impedance amplifiers is generally preferred for better level control.
